Glossary Terms J-K


Keeping people and terms straight is one of the challenges of writing a large series. Along with the compendium Lark's People, I keep a directory of places, things and terms. 


Here are the JK entries as of May; 2019

Jake’s Studio. A studio where Jake Peters lives and works. He and Honey planned to live there after the wedding

JE.
Jeannie and the Clansman (ballet) An excerpt is performed at the Patterdale Music Festival, starring Flori Almaclair as Jeannie and Hamish as the Clansman

Jedket’s Harp A harp solo Jordana does at the Patterdale festival

Jennifer Bay. A place Pen went to when she was five. She took Duffy there to see the sand dunes before the twins were born, but it wasn’t as she remembered.

KA.
Kaffeegeist. A spirit alpenfee brew from coffee beans. Brigitta doses Nik with it in Man Overboard
Kaffee Schnapps Served at Fee Kaffee

KE.
Kelpie;  A mystical horse supposed to inhabit deep lakes, bays and possibly Heather Island. Actually a manifestation of some horses akin to cloud-steppers. Beloved is a kelpie.
Kelpie bottle; a bottle made from sea glass, crafted by braefolk. Charmed to contain wishes and be thrown into the ocean where, legend has it, the kelpies will swim the wishes to heaven and return the bottle to the owner with the wish executed. Emer Inkersoll gave one to Suzette Skipton. 
Kerrykenny Village: Village where Alex and Oison settled

KI.
Kissing ring A “promise” ring worn by fay who have not enough years but who wish to be matched when they have. Tom and Ryl both have them. Ryl’s has flowers, rainbows and two hearts and Tom’s has stars. Much later, Tim Merriweather has one from Amalie de Courcy
