The Blue Stealer

Welcome to Sally's book-a-day-for-2017 blog. If unfamiliar with the blog, scroll down.

The Blue Stealer- 2009 (Post 218)

The Blue Stealer is the tenth story in the Jack Russell: Dog Detective series.

Sarge and Caterina  Smith, owner of Lord Red, are preparing for a party. Auntie Tidge is welcoming a newcomer to Doggeroo. Meanwhile, Jack is teaching his young son Preacher the basics of detection. What better place to start than the case of the Blue Stealer!

The Blue Stealer, as you can see from the cover, is a blue heeler. He is a clever and deceptive dog, whose master has trained him all too well. Jack needs some human help on this one, but Sarge is still distracted.
We weren't sure whether this would be the last of the Jack series, so we brought one plot strand that had run through this book and the last one, to fruition. Sarge has been spending rather a lot of time with Caterina Smith and this book culminates with their engagement party. For Jack and Preacher this means sharing Sarge's attention and a closer relationship with their friend Red. It's a happy ending, but as it happened there were two more books to come.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs http://www.affordablemanuscriptassessments.com and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)

The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist. If you enjoyed a post, or want to ask about any of my books or my manuscript assessment service.
