Zoo-thology (2015) Post 184
Zoo-thology is an anthology of A-Z animal stories, poems and facts that I ringmastered, edited, and compiled. This one, unlike Charms (Post 182) and Keepsakes (Post 183), is not a novel anthology, but it's not quite a normal anthology either. Instead of writing a bracket novel, I did some stories purportedly by, or about, Affa the Editor, regarding her struggles to get certain animals represented, and her efforts to get certain animals -manticore and jackalope-ahem- out. Some mythical critters refused to accept their mythical status, and two others, the vulture and the vampire bat, flapped determinedly to Affa's office, desiring inclusion. It was all a lot of fun, in any case. Once again we had a multiplicity of authors, and an anthology stuffed to the rafters. The two pieces of cover art were donated by two of the authors. The book leads off with Aardvark and Alpaca, continues through Bat, Bear, Bees, Budgerigar, Butterflies and Bunyip, Capybara, Cats and Cow, Dogs, Dolphin, Donkey and Dragons, Eagle and Elephant, Fox and Frog, Gnu and Guinea pig, Hen, Hippo and Horse, Iguana, Jackalope, Koala, Lion, Manticore, Monkey and Mouse, Nightingale and Numbat, Octopus, Orang-utan and Otter, Penguin, Pelican, Phoenix, Pig, Piranha and Possum, Quagga, Quokka and Quoll, Rabbit and Rat, Seal, Snake and Swan, Tapir, Thorny Devil, Thylacine, Tiger, Turkey and Turtle, Unicorn and Uuul, Vampire bat and Vulture, Whale and Wolf, xoF, Yak and Yeti and Zebra. As with other Prints Charming anthologies, there's a wide range of styles, lengths and tones, and the book is available to order from the authors (including me).

About the Blog
Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs http://www.affordablemanuscriptassessments.com and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)
The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist. If you enjoyed a post, or want to ask about any of my books or my manuscript assessment service, leave me a message.
