Skippy and the Underwater Treasure

Skippy The Underwater Treasure (1996) Post 279

Skippy The Underwater Treasure is one of a set of books I wrote from scripts of the Skippy television series. In this animated series, Skippy is reimagined as a male... in fact, he probably has nothing to do with the original series.  In this story, Skippy, Matilda, Wombo and other friends help a pelican scientist monitor the calving whales by using a peli-sub. Croco, the corrupt mayor of Bushtown, acquired the peli-sub for his own selfish purposes and it's up to Skippy and co to stop him.
I had some fun with alliteration in this story. As with the Blinky books, I'd watch an episode on videotape and then use the dialogue and create the narrative exposition to support it.

Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)

The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist. If you enjoyed a post, or want to ask about any of my books or my manuscript assessment service.
