The Carson Street Kids Learn about Our Communities

The Carson Street Kids Learn about Our Communities (2007) Post 338

The Carson Street Kids Learn about Our Communities is a non-fiction title about which I remembered little, probably because it was written to tight guidelines. It was one of those books I happily agreed to write (after all, I live in a community) but I then discovered the community had be be a North American one. Okayyyy. Meet the Sheriff? Fortunately, there are also firefighters, librarians, suburbs, principals and such. The book is not so much a story as a description of how a community works. It aims to introduce town stalwarts by their titles, show a bit of how they work, and give their hobbies.  Four communities are introduced to the reader, and there's even a suggestion about inviting the mayor to "your school"!

ABOUT THE BLOG

Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs http://www.affordablemanuscriptassessments.com and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)

The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist.
