Tikki the Tricky Pixie

Tikki the Tricky Pixie  2010 Post 310

Tikki the Tricky Pixie is one of the Little Horrors series. In this one, Tikki the pixie knows she is a bad fairy, but she finds it impossible to convince Uncle Sedge. Sedge, her guardian, simply tells her that pixies mind the marsh, and chalks up all her bad-fairy deeds as simple mischief and a lack of understanding. Even when Auld Anni, the water hag, comes to suggest she should be educated at Hags' Abademy of Badness so she can fulfill her potential, Sedge refuses to listen.
Tikki is thrilled when the hags send the filly-fae to give her an invitation and guide her through her qualifying bad deed.
It's not long before Tikki and the filly-fae meet another misfit; a human boy named Hogmanay McKay, a terribly reluctant member of the Pixiepacker Club. He's the only boy and has been forced to join to keep his sister company. Having met a real pixie, Hogmanay agrees to help her disrupt the Pixiepacker camp. Swamp imps are psyched into helping by masquerading as big bad bitey beetles, and the game's afoot.
Tikki, the filly-fae and the reluctant Hogmanay become fast friends in their own cross-grained manner and a good (bad) time is had by all.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs http://www.affordablemanuscriptassessments.com and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)

The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist. If you enjoyed a post, or want to ask about any of my books or my manuscript assessment service.
