Blinky Bill and the Magic Show

Blinky Bill and the Magic Show (1999) Post 340

Blinky Bill and the Magic Show is a story written under licence. In this one, Blinky and Nutsy go to see a show put on by Magico the Magician. Magico wears a black mask and Blinky is sure he's seen those eyes before... Throughout the show, while the other Greenpatch children clap and cheer, Blinky continues to identify bits of the magician. By the time Magico asks for everyone's picnic lunches to be put in his magic cabinet, Blinky is wildly suspicious, and with cause, for the picnics vanish. So does the magician. So, after finding a lever, does Blinky, whereupon he exposes the thief and gets back the lunches. Danny Dingo. How COULD you?

ABOUT THE BLOG

Sally is Sally Odgers; author, manuscript assessor, editor, anthologist and reader. She runs http://www.affordablemanuscriptassessments.com and Prints Charming Books. (Sally is me, by the way, and I am lots of other things too, but these are the relevant ones for now.)

The goal for 2017 is to write a post a day profiling the background behind one of my books; how it came to be written, what it's about, and any things of note that happened along the way. If you're an author, an aspiring author, a reader or just someone who enjoys windows into worlds, you might find this fun. The books are not in any special order, but will be assigned approximate dates, and pictures, where they exist.

  1. This story sounds pretty similar to the teleplay "Blinky and the Magician", where the magician is named El Diablo, who's also Danny in disguise.

  2. Probably made from the same material. It's difficult to recall.
